The People’s Cathedral Sports Department
The motto of the Sports Department: The total development of body.
The objectives are as follows:
• To allow each child the opportunity to develop a healthy body through various forms of physical activity/exercise
• To involve each child in a discipline of choice
• To develop a healthy competitive spirit in each child
How will these be accomplished?
• Ensuring that each child participates during our Physical Education sessions
• The requisition of the services of National Sports Council coaches
• The involvement of the school in local and national competitions
Structure of the Sports Department:
• Headed by Kenroy R. Burke who is ably assisted by National sports Council coaches and other members of staff
• Disciplines offered: Cricket, Football, Netball, Athletics, Chess, Swimming, Basketball
• Every Friday is designated for Physical Education sessions
• Some of the disciplines are also offered during after school programmes:
Cricket - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Chess – Fridays
Made the finals NAPASAC
Made the finals for the National Swim meet
Won trophies in Chess competitions
Winner of the National Under 7 Zone 3 Champion 50m - 2006
2005
Placed third in our zone in Herman Griffith Cricket Competition
