Suriname 2009 updates

New Year 2009 Greetings from Suriname.

Yet another year has dawned upon us, but let us also remember it brings us closer to the Coming of Jesus Christ. The most important thing is that may our hearts and lives be always prepared and ready to meet Him. May His blessings and His purposes be fulfilled and be upon your lives during this year. It is a priviledge and honour to be God’s servant working in His vineyard. Who will want to trade this privilege and honour for anything else, when you see what the Gospel of Jesus Christ can do in people’s hearts and lives? The transformation of souls. My soul is richly blessed to experience and to be a part of building the Kingdom of the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

Think back on the faces of those who stand along the shoulders of the road we have traveled. Who has constantly cheered us on as we dashed down the lane? Who has yelled and whooped and 'hollered' in celebration as we reached those milestones of accomplishment? Who has whispered words of comfort and healing when we have fallen and felt like we simply could not get back on our feet again? Look into their eyes. There’s the Grade-school teacher who gave us the belief in ourselves to keep going, even when the math problem seemed too hard. There’s the coach who pushed us to our limit as our lungs burned and our legs trembled from the exhaustion of wind sprints. There stands the boss who believed in our talents enough to give us the extra responsibilities that led to our promotion. Always, always, there are the voices of our mother and father patiently encouraging us in our life’s journey. There are the songs of our siblings, the sweet breath of children, the tunes of our friends, the lyrics of all those dear people, alive and dead, who have joined in the chorus of Encouragers who have sustained us on our journeys thus far.

Special thanks to those who have supported and encourage me and who stood by my side along the way and all the way through difficult times, painful times, challenges, in loneliness, in the valleys and also on the mountain tops to fulfill God‘s purposes in my life. Thank you. The greatest thanks and honour goes to God, my Saviour and Lord. The Lover of my soul. Who saw it fit to call me to be His servant to work in His vineyard. Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Sherry Ann Griffith (Ambassador of the Most High God)

What a great honour and priviledge to be part of this historic event. Our First Water Baptism. Jesus said; “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.”

This has been a joyous occasion of what God has been doing so far. During our First Baptism Service, each one of them was interviewed before the whole village as to what this baptism meant to them. After the Baptism we had fellowship with them and their families, in which each of the baptized believers had received a gift. In this fellowship we ate and danced before the Lord as one church family. The Spiritual fruits of our labour! Our hearts were truly and indeed blessed with the believers. What was so special and magnificent was that not even words could explain and describe the feelings we had felt on this special occasion. Not only the believers were there, but the whole village (unbelievers) came out to witness this historic event in the making; the First Water Baptism.

Once, a total heathen village, not knowing anything about God. Now, the Light has been revealed. The Light has shone in the darkness. Jesus Christ is the Light. Salvation has come. HALLELUJAH. The believers are coming together once a week every Sunday to pray for one another, to pray for the villagers, to pray for the village as a whole, they are also listening to the Word of God on cassette, because they are unable to read. Recently we have taught them about fasting and the importance of fasting in a believer’s life. We spent not only time in teaching them, but also we spent time eating with them and their families.

We had invited the new baptized believers and their families to join us with a meal in a social atmosphere. This signifies that they are part of us, the church. Indeed we can see that God is working in their hearts and lives. They hunger and long to know more about God and to serve Him. Their faces shone with the love and mercy of God, their faces shine with the transformation power of God that is working from the inside out in their lives and hearts. Each and every time more and more people are joining the group. God indeed is building His Church. We have asked for the inheritance and God will give us the heathen for our inheritance. He had said ask, and that is what we have done. Now we are claiming the inheritance.

Hidden Treasures of Darkness Reaching the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Proclaiming His Name to the ends of the earth. There is power in that Name, there is salvation in that Name there is healing in that Name, there is deliverance in that Name, there is hope in that Name, there is life in that Name, there is purpose and destiny in that Name. There is no other name than the Name of Jesus. Salvation belongs to our God.
